My professional helping career began when my maternal grandmother passed away in 2003. Her death, though traumatic, contributed to my college return and propelled me to complete an undergraduate degree from Southeastern Oklahoma State University in 2004 with a major in psychology.
Upon graduation, I worked as a Behavioral Health Rehabilitation Specialist, teaching anger management, self-esteem, and coping skills to children and adults. Graduate studies immediately followed and in 2007, I received a master's degree in social work from Texas A&M University-Commerce.
After completing 4,000 hours of post-graduate clinical supervision, and passing the National American Social Work Board clinical exam, I became licensed to practice psychotherapy in Oklahoma. Since then, I've been fortunate enough to provide mental health and substance abuse treatment to countless clients in outpatient, inpatient, and residential settings.
Both professionally and personally, I consider myself to be a lifetime student who is constantly searching for new opportunities to learn, grow, and appreciate the world around me.
